Gyton Grantley (born July 1980) is a Logie Award and AFI Award-winning Australian actor, best known for his portrayal of convicted murderer and drug trafficker Carl Williams in the hit Australian television show Underbelly, for which he was nominated for both Most Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series and Most Popular Actor for the 2009 TV Week Logie Awards and the 2008 AFI award (winning for Most Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series). He also has many other television and film credits. On stage, he will play the title role in Brendan Cowell's Ruben Guthrie at La Boite Theatre, directed by David Berthold, in October 2011.

Attended Anglican Church Grammar School in Brisbane finishing in 1997. At high school Gyton participated in all school activities including Rowing, Rugby, Swimming and a huge contributor to the life of the Drama department.
Graduated from QUT Creative Industries with a degree in Film and TV, and is currently featured on their No Walls student showcase website.

Controversy arose in early 2007 over Grantley's fundraising efforts to pay for a personal trip into space. His website claimed to donate a cut to the Starlight Foundation charity, of which the charity itself had no knowledge.
In 2009 Gyton won a Logie Award for Most Outstanding Actor.
Grantley began his television acting career in 2003, starring in Fat Cow Motel. Over the next two years, he had small guest roles in Marking Time, Small Claims and The Cooks. In the summer of 2005 / 2006, he had a role in the short lived series headLand. In 2006, he had a small role in Foxtel's Supernova and in 2007, had a 10 episode guest role in Home and Away.
In 2008, Grantly shot to fame in the high rating drama, Underbelly, where he played antagonist Carl Williams. This role lead him to win the 'Most Outstanding Actor' award at the Logies.
In 2009, he stars in 30 Seconds and season two of East West 101.
He recently appeared in two short film entries for the 2009 Tropfest Short Film Festival, including Being Carl Williams where Grantley, playing himself, is abducted by two criminals who mistake him for Carl Williams after his role in Underbelly.
He is currently filming "The Reef" with ex Underbelly co-star Damian Walshe-Howling.[1]
